Tattu Birmingham Announces Anticipated Opening Date For February 1st.

Modern Chinese restaurant Tattu will officially open its doors on Friday 1st February 2019 in Birmingham city centre.

In what will be the restaurant group’s third site and largest fit-out to date, the 160-cover, split-level restaurant will occupy a charming space within the city’s historic Grand development with a design concept that takes inspiration from the ancient Chinese philosophy of Yin Yang.

The restaurant will serve its renowned Chinese-inspired cuisine, taking traditional ingredients and classic flavours, combined with innovative ideas and cooking techniques. The result is a distinctive and contemporary take on the much-loved style of food, with moreish dim sum and delicious seasonal sharing plates that encourage an interactive dining experience.

Guests will be greeted on the ground floor where the bar area and private dining room spaces represent the Yang element. This area introduces a new design to Tattu’s collection with light, masculine and fiery details. Reflective gold finishes and temple-like rock create a warm and engaging space perfect for enjoying a cocktail or two before or after dining.

Downstairs, the main restaurant reflects the elements of Yin with a dark, feminine and immersive space featuring oriental fretwork, imported precious rock and Tattu’s signature blossom trees.

On the evening of 30th January, the restaurant will host a pay-as-you-feel charity dinner for invited guests, the proceeds of which will be donated to St Basils – a local organisation that helps young adults affected by homelessness across the West Midlands region.

Adam Jones, owner and managing director of Tattu, said: “Since we announced that Tattu would be coming to Birmingham, the city has embraced us and the support we’ve received on our journey so far has been overwhelming. We have taken some new design risks with the site, that we feel pay respect to the heritage space within The Grand while marking the start of what we hope will be an exciting new chapter for the building. We are very much looking forward to welcoming guests in the new year and hope our unique offering will deliver something new to the city’s discerning diners.”

Tattu is located in The Grand development on Barwick Street. For more information please visit www.tattu.co.uk/birmingham.
