Stellar Success for TV’s Timmy Mallett’s Art Launch

Timmy Mallett’s Art Launch

Thursday 30th March saw TV personality, Timmy Mallett, swap his mallet for the palette as he showcased his new paintings at Oberon Gallery of Leicester.

Timmy Mallett found fame and notoriety in the 80s with his hilarious Wacaday and Mallett’s Mallet TV programmes, but he’s since gone on to become one of the art scene’s most exciting – and bankable – Fine Artists.

This very special event not only allow a capacity-crowd of esteemed guests the chance to view his brand-new collection of originals and prints, but also meet this colourful character, who was delighted to pose for photos and autographs.

After a day of TV and radio interviews, the Wacaday star proudly unveiled his King Richard III painting – amongst others – which was painted especially for the event and snapped up by an eager art-collector, some of whom had travelled from as far as Sheffield to view the collection – Mallett’s first major exhibition in over two years.

Gallery Manager of Oberon Gallery of Leicester, Donna Marie Cross, said of the occasion,

“I couldn’t be happier to showcase Timmy Mallett’s new collection.  As I knew he would, Timmy’s proved himself to be more than a colourful character: he’s an exceptionally talented fine artist, too.  If you love colourful paintings – many of which are inspired by the native Leicestershire countryside – Timmy’s paintings are a must-see and must-buy investment”.
