Birmingham Publicity Association Re-appoints Chair For Record Third Year

The chair of the Birmingham Publicity Association, Caroline Chell, has been appointed into post for the third year running – a first in the groups 72 year history.

Caroline, who is Strategy Lead at First Radio Sales and has been involved with the council since 2004 and was formally sworn into position at the Birmingham Publicity Associations’ annual general meeting held at The Loft Lounge.

Sitting beside her is also Natalie Pejovic of Superdream as vice chair for the second year running, who was also awarded the Chair Cup – awarded each year to the person who has supported the Chair the most. Selena Higgins-McCarron of Global Radio has also agreed to extend her presidency for a third year next year to 2020.

The Longley Merit Cup was awarded to Sarah Hughes from Global, the cup is voted by the 16 other council members to the person who has contributed the most towards the association over the previous year.

Caroline said: “It is such an honour to be asked to be Chair once again for the Birmingham Publicity Association and continue the great work that we do within the city of Birmingham and beyond. We have raised hundreds of thousands of pounds throughout our history and also created some great networking opportunities and events for our members to enjoy. To know that I’m at the helm of this is fantastic association and in the privileged position to be able to continue to drive it forward into its 73rd year is truly rewarding, and I hope we continue to see it go from strength to strength.”

The Birmingham Publicity Association supports the media and creative industries in the region, while raising money for key local charities that its members. Its members include global organisations to sole traders, graduate trainees right up to CEOs and MDs, media owners and agencies, advertising and marketing agencies, digital agencies, PR agencies and freelancers.
