Cadbury World celebrates arrival of royal baby with sweet tribute

Chocolatiers at Cadbury World have unveiled their latest creation – a sweet chocolate teddy bear to celebrate the birth of the royal baby.

The intricate bear was produced over two days by Siân Patterson and Bernie Andrews. The creation stands at 45cm tall and weighs around 28kg – the equivalent of 622 standard bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk.

Siân and Bernie used cocoa butter to carefully paint the bear’s eyes before adding a delicate covering of chocolate, patted into peaks, to produce a fur-like effect. The design also features a gold lustre effect across the creation, stitched paw pads, and a pearlescent white decorated chocolate heart, which the name of the new arrival will be added to once announced. A 3D purple bow provides the finishing touch, created by moulding melted chocolate within a piping bag and fixed to the bear using heated white chocolate.

The Cadbury World chocolatiers have now produced four chocolatey creations to mark the birth of new members of the royal family, including a chocolate cot complete with a range of toys for the birth of Prince George, a chocolate pram for Princess Charlotte and a chocolate rocking horse for Prince Louis.

Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Once again, our team of extremely talented chocolatiers have crafted a magnificent creation fit for a little prince.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors to see the teddy bear for themselves at the attraction, and would like to send our best wishes to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from everybody here at Cadbury World on the birth of their son.”

Guests visiting Cadbury World throughout May will be able to admire the creation in pride of place in the Chocolate Making zone.
