Castle Fine Art expands at the Mailbox

Castle Fine Art has announced its expansion into a 6,000 sq ft flagship showroom space at the Mailbox, Birmingham, as the centre confirms continued strong footfall growth for 2018.

Opening in early summer this year, Castle Fine Art’s new gallery will benefit from a prominent location at the front of the Mailbox, and will be almost four times the size of its current space. It will deliver an inspirational environment that aims to change the way that visitors enjoy original and limited edition fine art.

Customers can expect to find pieces from Castle Fine Art’s signature variety of contemporary artists, including Bob Dylan, Lorenzo Quinn and Domingo Zapata, as well as exciting new talent. The flagship gallery will give Castle Fine Art the space and volume to host ambitious and inspiring exhibitions and artist appearances.

The announcement comes on the back of a 10% growth in footfall at the Mailbox during the course of 2018.

Melanie Taylor, head of retailer relations at Milligan, said: “Castle Fine Art’s excellent range of exciting artists and beautiful artworks are perfectly in tune with the Mailbox’s discerning customer base. We’ve enjoyed a wonderful relationship with Castle Fine Art over the past decade and are delighted to support them as they continue to grow their business at the Mailbox.

“With 14 new retail and F&B openings over the last 24 months, including the launch of ‘Home at Mailbox’ – the region’s leading destination for contemporary furniture and interiors – and the arrival of a mix of high quality, bricks-and-clicks independent retailers like Burrows & Hare and English Brands, the Mailbox continues to evolve and deliver what our valued customers want in the 21st century. We look forward to announcing further exciting additions to the Mailbox community in the coming months.”

Ian Weatherby-Blythe, managing director of Washington Green Fine Art Group, added: “The clear alignment between our brand and the Mailbox has been instrumental in positioning us in front of Birmingham’s art lovers, and thanks to the arrival of interiors heavyweights including Heal’s, MADE.com and BoConcept, we now find ourselves in the hub of the leading destination for furniture and interiors in the Midlands, as well as sitting alongside leading fashion names. We’re incredibly excited to take up residence in our spectacular new flagship gallery at the Mailbox, and look forward to welcoming new and existing customers there this summer.”

Elsewhere in the Mailbox, visitors can explore fashion brands including Harvey Nichols’ 45,000 sq ft flagship store, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein Underwear, BOSS, Emporio Armani, Paul Smith, L.K. Bennett and Gieves & Hawkes. Guests can also expect to find Ribble Cycle’s flagship showroom, The Wedding Club, Fine & Country, a three-screen boutique Everyman Cinema, Malmaison, AC Hotels and the Mailbox’s popular canalside bars and restaurants.

Nash Bond, Avison Young and Shelley Sandzer are leasing agents for Mailbox.
