Gin and Ale Trail brings tempting tipples to the Royal Town

Gin drinkers and ale enthusiasts of the Royal Town are being welcomed to try their favourite tipples at Sutton Coldfield’s Gin and Ale Trail this month.

Organised by Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID, the week-long celebration will take visitors on a unique journey throughout the town centre’s pubs, bars and restaurants, sampling a selection of artisan gins and craft ales along the way.

Over fifteen venues are set to take part in the event, including Simpsons Gin Bar, Quinto Lounge and The Royal Hotel.

Taking place from Friday 24 May to Friday 31 May, guests who collect six stamps after enjoying a drink in any of the participating venues throughout the week will also receive an exclusive souvenir t-shirt.

Gin and ale aficionados will also be in with a chance of winning a tour for four people at Purity brewery, simply by uploading a photograph of them enjoying their drink with the hashtag #SCTCGinandAleTrail.

As well as offering a wide selection of gin and ale, all establishments will also offer a free soft drink to each designated driver.

The launch of Sutton Coldfield’s Gin and Ale Trail comes after the town centre celebrated achieving the prestigious Purple Flag accreditation for the third consecutive year, awarded to the Royal Town for its vibrant and diverse mix of dining, entertainment, nightlife and culture.

Mike Bushell, Sutton Coldfield Town Centre BID Manager, said: “We are delighted to reveal details of the first Sutton Coldfield Gin and Ale Trail. The town centre is home to a wide range of wonderful pubs, bars and restaurants bringing a great variety of food and drink all year round, and the trail will be the perfect celebration of Sutton Coldfield’s varied offering.

“We are dedicated to delivering a wide range of community events throughout the year, including the popular Sutton Coldfield Food Festival and Month of Music Festival, and we hope that the Gin and Ale Trail will be another unmissable addition to the town centre’s exciting annual calendar,” he added.
