Kinkou put the wow into Aluna’s New Food Menu

Aluna’s new food menu is on fire! Now that it’s had the magic touch of London consultancy Kinkou.

The team behind Kinkou have trained worldwide, in London, New York and Shanghai before setting their sights on a new Birmingham project, where the thriving independent food and drink scene tempted him to the bright lights of the second city.

With their speciality of creating Asian fusion dishes, they were the perfect choice for Aluna. Their ethos of creating  light, healthy dishes crafted from the finest quality ingredients was just right for the Birmingham market. The team are also renowned for creating visual statements with their dishes, using unusual ingredients and ornaments to create real impact – the perfect partner for Aluna highly stylised cocktails.

Owner Nishil Nathwani handpicked Kinkou to bring their ingenuity and flair to the menu at Aluna. He said: “They have a reputation for creating dishes that are light yet luxurious, something that perfectly complements our expansive and inventive cocktail menu.”

Aluna’s loyal clientele had fallen in love with the venue for its sumptuously styled interiors full of plush velvets in hues of orange, its glowing copper surfaces, show stopping lighting and decadent wall art.

Now that it has garnered an enviable reputation for its great cocktail list the time was right to raise their game with their food offering.

KInkou’s CV reads like a wish list :  Prue Leith’s fine French Michelin-starred restaurant, the Hempel Hotel, not to mention the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and tantalized the tastebuds of A listers such as Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Kinkou MD said: “Its been a great experience conjuring up a  signature style for Aluna that will delight the diners as much as the cocktails do with dishes that are a feast for all the senses.”

The new menu launches this October and features small plates, sharing dishes, bigger plates and salads. Signature dishes include Pan Roasted Scallops with Wasabi Aioli, Crushed Pea and Purple Shiso, Tempura Fish and Sweet Potato Chips and Soft Shell Crab Burger and Fries.

Guests will be able to enjoy mouthwatering flavours that they may not have tried before, and many of the dishes are suitable for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan diets.

There’s another new face in the Aluna fold with the arrival of Naomi Aly in the role of Business Development Manager for Aluna and Siamais.
