Everyone has items in their wardrobe that they never wear. Either you bought it on a whim and never got around to returning it, you’re waiting for ponchos to come back into fashion or you’re holding on to the hope that you’ll get into those size 8 skinny jeans again.
According to research out this week the average British woman hoards £285 worth of unworn clothes in her wardrobe- equating to £1.6 Billion wasting away in the nation’s cupboards. With roughly 22 outfits each languishing on our rails, QVC, the home shopping channel conducted research into our collecting habits. Apparently 54% of participants said that they feel guilty about throwing away clothes, especially when they’ve spent a decent amount of money on the item and 45% blame impulse buying for their massive pile of unworn items.
And gents needn’t think they’ve got off lightly they’re just as bad with £248 of unworn outfits stuffed in the back of the cupboards!
So, we want to know what you’ve got in your clothes pile. Are there any items you’re hoping will come back into fashion, or anything you’re too ashamed to let see the light of day again?
