Coventry Set To Clap For The NHS And Remind Us All Of The Importance Of Home

At a time of lock-down, the Coventry BID team is looking at ways in which it can continue to bring some joy and entertainment to Coventrians, whilst being mindful of the current restrictions.  They’re proud to announce:

This Thursday (26th March) Coventry BID team are working with local businesses, Coventry City Council and Free Radio to show their gratitude for the NHS by encouraging as many people as possible to join in with the nationwide #clapforourcarers. Both The Yard and the dome at West Orchards Shopping Centre will be lit up blue in addition to this as a further show of support from the city.

The #clapforourcarers activity takes place at 8pm.

This Saturday evening (28th March) at 6pm, the team is working in partnership with Coventry performers, Highly Sprung, whose breath-taking Home project will be streamed digitally via the Coventry City Centre Facebook page.

The spectacular aerial performance first came to the city in September 2019, so it’s a perfect opportunity to either experience it for the first time or watch it all over again from the comfort of your sofa.

Trish Willetts, BID Director, said: “We are incredibly proud of our city and very conscious that all of our businesses and residents are being affected by the current situation. Whilst we are, of course, on hand to support wherever we can, we also want to bring some joy too.”

“This week, we hope that by showing our support and gratitude to the NHS on Thursday night, as well as giving people the opportunity to watch the fantastic Home performance from Highly Sprung on Saturday, we are doing our bit in helping to lift people’s spirits.”
