Luxury Boutique, Condotti comes to Leicester

High end independent boutique, Condotti has recently opened on Francis Street in the leafy Stoneygate area of Leicester. The boutique opened by Pam Dasanjh Coningsby brings high end labels including her own label to the ladies of Leicester.

We caught up with owner Pam to discover the inspiration behind the boutique and label.

Where did the name Condotti originate from?

I’ve always been inspired by Italy and when I visited last year I noticed at the bottom of the Spanish Steps in Rome, the street name Via Condotti, which is famous for its shopping. I loved the name Condotti so I thought why not name it after Via Condotti.
So what inspired you to bring your boutique to Leicester?

I’ve always been involved in the high-end luxury market, working previously in interiors and previously running other fashion boutiques. It was my two sons Aran and Stefan who said to me that I should follow my dreams, so I decided to do exactly that by opening a high end boutique and own label within Leicester.
You’re based within the Stoneygate area which is just outside the city centre. Why did you choose this area rather than the city centre?

The area is becoming more of an up and coming street again with the variety of other independent shops here. I wanted to create a destination where women can come enjoy a glass of champagne or coffee and browse the brands that are on offer. I want people to feel comfortable, so if they need advice I am on hand to provide a personal stylist experience.
So talk through the layout of the boutique; what brands do you have
on offer?

I’ve organised the rails, mixing the various brands we have with my own label Condotti, providing an example of what can be worn with what. The labels we stock include Pinko, Paul & Joe, Nicole Farhi, Parosh and Butler & Wilson Jewellery.

What is the inspiration behind your own brand, condotti?

For me it’s about simple couture cuts, beautiful prints and lovely elegant style. Inspiration can range from a particular fabric, a previous style from history or from somewhere I’ve travelled. I then find a cohesive link and take bits from here and there. I primarily get inspired by beautiful prints, cuts and historical pieces worn by Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn for example, as well as what the fashion houses are currently doing.

What are you own highlights from your own label, Condotti?
I am in the midst of producing bespoke pieces such as long evening gowns. I am going to have a fewaround eight to twelve pieces for ladies to view. I will then ask the client what colours they would like, take her measurements and then produce the bespoke garment from there.

What are you ambitions for Condotti?

By spring / summer next year I want everyone to know the name Condotti. I want to put on more events and showcase not only my collection but also the brands we stock for women around the Leicestershire area. I have more collections coming out in the next few months with the Christmas range coming in September and my spring/ summer collection coming out in
December.
