Champion pastry chef develops Afternoon Tea at Hoar Cross Hall

Afternoon tea is set to be a major new feature for local foodies as Hoar Cross Hall develops its programme of themed afternoon tea events.

Afternoon Tea at the Hall will give guests the chance to enjoy a quintessential English tradition in the surroundings of the former private country house. Recognised as one of Staffordshire’s foremost privately owned hotels, the Hall has a longstanding tradition in hospitality.

Afternoon Tea at the Hall is being overseen by the hotel’s award-winning pastry chef, Charlotte Wakelyn who recently stamped her authority as one of the UK’s foremost pastry chefs at the noted Salon Culinaire.  Afternoon Tea at the Hall will consist of hand-cut sandwiches, fresh home-baked scones, miniature cakes and pastries. There will also be the monthly themed event which will reflect the seasonal calendar with Mothering Sunday, Mad Hatters and Halloween themed afternoons already in the planning.

The events are billed as a new social occasion for local families and friends; an occasion to meet and mingle, relax and revel.  Afternoon Tea at the Hall is priced from £25 per person and bookings are encouraged to guarantee a place.

Adrian Pickard, managing director, at Hoar Cross Hall adds, “Charlotte has an amazing knowledge and is going to help the Hall become the definitive afternoon tea destination outside of London!  We can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve and I personally hope that she may add me to the tasting panel as she develops the themes and events”.
