Deadline approaching in search for Harborough’s top 10 business innovators

The search is on to find the 10 most innovative and ambitious business pioneers in and around Market Harborough, with the deadline for applications now just days away.

The Pioneer 10 Harborough Business Awards 2018 is the latest phase of a free, district-wide support scheme to help foster innovation and “catapult” businesses forward.

Business owners and ambitious entrepreneurs can apply to join an intensive growth programme, which provides start-ups and growing businesses with exclusive mentoring, expert workshops, downloadable tools and support from a team of successful business leaders.

Funded by Harborough District Council and driven by the team at Harborough Innovation Centre, Pioneer 10 Harborough has already helped hundreds of businesses since launching in June 2016 through pragmatic workshops, a website packed with free downloadable tools as well as practical advice and one to one business coaching.

The programme is now looking to find Harborough’s most pioneering businesses, with the winners in line to benefit from a customised programme of specialist business growth support and expert mentoring to gain a competitive edge, commercialise innovation and grow. The top two pioneers will receive free shared office space at the Harborough Innovation Centre for 12 months.

Stuart Hartley, Innovation Director at Harborough Innovation Centre, said: “We know that Harborough is a hotbed of innovation, it’s a place where creativity thrives and ideas take off.

“Our Business Awards will give our pioneers the recognition and support they need to get their new ideas off the ground and their growing businesses to the next stage, catapulting their business forward.”

Built on the previously successful Spark Harborough business initiative, Pioneer 10 Harborough was made possible thanks to funding and support from Harborough District Council to extend the business coaching and business support being offered by the Harborough Innovation Centre.

It provides 57 offices which includes studios, shared office space plus meeting rooms, together with catering facilities and a business centre.

Office premises are available in a range of unit sizes from 157 to 1,065 sq ft on flexible licence agreements so that tenants are free of any long-term letting commitments.

To apply, simply go to pioneer10-harborough.co.uk/awards and complete the short online questionnaire. Entries must be received by June 4.
