FU Loves Leicester #1

Wow, how did we get here? The Fraser Urquhart Team have been home based for a few weeks now and we hope you’re all coping well with self-isolation; together we will get through this. It’s for this reason, and for the fact that we’re such Chatty Cathys, that we have created this new newsletter.

We’ve pulled it together so that we can all keep talking, helping and advising each other through the minefield we now call everyday living. Content has been supplied from key local businesses people, all experts within their fields and it’s been designed to be useful for your business, your family and your own health and mental health.

You may have noticed our new hashtag #FUfighters. It sums up our approach to all the craziness right now: we’re determined to fight for your business and ours. The only way to do this is to keep talking; in this instance silence is not golden!

We’re planning on sending out the update twice weekly –we hope you find it useful.

If you’ve got a story that you’d like to share, get in touch by email: [email protected] or [email protected] or call us on 07713 740 272

HAVE A TWI-NIGHT IN FOR LOROS

Never ones to give up in the face of a challenge, local hospice LOROS  will be swapping their  annual big night out for a big night in as they bring the electric atmosphere of the Twilight Walk, LIVE, to your living rooms, via Facebook.

On Saturday 18th April at 7pm, they’re asking you to pull off those bobbly joggers, get your glad rags on, and get moving! They’ll be breaking up the quarantine boredom with a night full of ‘Through The Decades’ entertainment as we all ‘virtually’ come together to complete 10,000 steps around the house.

Dunelm have donated some amazing prizes including hundreds of pounds worth of vouchers for best dressed, top fundraiser and a treat or two for those of you who dare to dance!

Donations for LOROS Hospice are now more vital than ever. The Twilight Walk is their biggest event of the year and the money it raises is an essential source of income for the Hospice. That’s why they’re asking those of you who weren’t already signed up for the Twilight Walk to make a small donation, tune in from your living rooms and get together for a night to remember.

For those of you already signed up: thank you! Please keep challenging yourselves to build your sponsorship – after all, a 10,000-step challenge in the living room is no easy feat!

For further details, or to register your interest and make a donation, visit www.loros.co.uk/twilight

TIME TO GET DONE WHAT YOU ALWAYS PUT OFF- MAKING A WILl

It’s one of those things we all put off doing but making a will is arguably one of the most important things you can do for your family – without one, your assets will be distributed on your death as designated by the law (intestacy).  It’s unlikely that this will reflect your wishes and can cause unnecessary distress and inheritance tax being payable unnecessarily. Intestacy, for example, does not confer any rights for cohabitees, step-children, friends or charities.  The Will and Probate team at Shakespeare Martineau have some timely advice for those who’ve yet to put their wishes into writing here.
