Leicester to stage top acappella acts

Award-winning a cappella outfits will take to the stage in Leicester on 30 March 2019.

The evening show is being hosted by Tuxedo Junction chorus, as part of their 10-year anniversary celebrations.

The art of unaccompanied singing, with a focus on barbershop four-part close harmony, will be showcased.

Rob Evatt, Tuxedo Junction chairperson, said: “We’ve dazzled audiences for 10 years. As we move into our second decade as a chorus, we wanted to put on a show, a big show. We’ve recruited some of the best talent British barbershop has to offer for this spectacular event.”

Tuxedo Junction will perform three sets, to explore its past, present and future. The show will also feature the current male and female barbershop quartet champions – The Locksmiths and Avalon, respectively – as well as several other quartets. A champion of champions chorus, comprising award-winning male voices, will also dazzle, with its clean, bright sound.

The evening will be compèred by sharp-witted Lee Rivers, a previous member of Tuxedo Junction, who will ensure the entertainment flows from start to finish.
