Local Leicester Businesses help Hope Against Cancer host a Moulin Rouge-themed Ball fundraising event

A red carpet event is being held in Leicester to raise funds for local cancer research charity Hope Against Cancer.

Hope’s Clinical Trials facility is also based in the city at Leicester Royal Infirmary and the Charity is helping to fund vital, life-saving research prioritising early detection of the condition.

The charity is to host a Moulin Rouge-themed Ball, where they will create a Parisian wonderland at the beautiful Winstanley House, complete with a drinks reception, three-course meal, casino, and live music. The ball will take place on 24th February and will be hosted by BBC commentator Ian Stringer.

Hope Against Cancer Chief Executive Nigel Rose said: “We’re incredibly excited to be hosting our Moulin Rouge Ball at Winstanley House. As a charity we rely entirely on support and donations from fundraising events such as this. We’ll have great food, singers and dancers, music, and a firework display to end the night, plus we’ll be holding a raffle with some great prizes on offer.”

Businesses such as Next, PRP Consulting Engineers & Surveyors, NFU Mutual, Sandicliffe, Kazzoo, Griffin Fit, Glynis Wright & Co, Newby Castleman, Leicestershire Garden Design Co and Eileen Richards Recruitment have all sponsored the Moulin Rouge Ball. Hope Against Cancer know that without the support of these local businesses, these events would not be possible and are forever grateful for the support it receives from the Leicester business community.

Lizzie Griffin, Owner at Griffin Fit added “We are proud to be one of the main sponsors for the Moulin Rouge Ball this year. It’s fantastic for us, not only for supporting a local charity but for brand awareness being a small business. We love supporting Hope Against Cancer in any of their events and are going to be looking at becoming a member of their Hope Through Business club.”

Tickets for the Ball are on sale now and by popular demand, Hope Against Cancer is extending its current ‘early bird’ offer of £80 per person or £800 per table until 5th February, when prices will increase to £100 per person and £1000 per table.

Tickets are limited and can be purchased by emailing [email protected] or telephone 0116 270 0101.
