A new gem is set to sparkle in the Leicestershire dining scene this month

Black Iron is a modern restaurant, steakhouse and bar, which will celebrate the very best of British. Tucked away in leafy parkland at Winstanley House, an imposing Georgian grade II listed hotel and venue, Black Iron prides itself on their amazing team, great food and drink and faultless surroundings.

The centrepiece of Black Iron will be their charcoal-fired oven, which treats the premium produce on offer with the first-class cooking method it deserves.  The locally sourced dishes harken back to the way food used to be prepared; cooking over fire is a primitive technique that allows the top-quality ingredients to speak for themselves.

Situated within the beautiful Winstanley House, Black Iron is just a few minutes drive from the centre of town, but surrounded by parkland you’ll feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle of city life. The restaurant is part of the full refurbishment of the grade II listed building, which has seen it transformed into one of the Midlands’ finest wedding and event venues. The building had been brought back to life by the team behind Leicester’s The City Rooms, much to the delight of Manager Director, Kiran Parmar.

Kiran commented, “Black Iron adds a fantastic extra layer to our offering at Winstanley House. The locally sourced produce is of the highest quality and it will be served in a truly beautiful setting. Alongside the opening of Winstanley House as an event venue and hotel we want Black Iron to be celebrated as a destination in its own right. Extreme care has been taken over every detail, including the first class cooking methods and extensive drinks selection.”

“The team here have personally visited the farms, vineyards and breweries whose end products make up our menus. We really want to showcase the very best of Leicestershire and we can’t wait to start welcoming people in!”

Customers can rest assured that not only has the meat been sourced and produced in a responsible way but that the team has handpicked the best cuts on offer from Onley Grounds Farm, Rugby, whose third-generation strong passion for their livestock is apparent in every mouthful. From charcoal roasted scallops to dry aged Chateaubriand, the menu impresses from every angle. The menu will also include a delectable range of vegetarian and gluten free options.

The restaurant’s impressive bar will house an extensive beer and wine list, with over 160 wines to discover from the wine cellar. Highlights include the Malbec menu, French classics menus, alongside some award winning English wines.  Not to be outdone, there will also be over 40 beers available, including locally brewed Black Iron Lager, and a tempting gin and cocktail list to ensure that all palates and appreciations are taken care of.

Black Iron is located at Winstanley House, Hinckley Road, Leicester, LE3 1HX and will open to the public on Saturday 14 October. For more information please visitwww.winstanleyhouse.co.uk and you can view the full main menu here.
