Riders Star Becomes Sports Ambassador For Local Cancer Research Charity
Leicester cancer research charity Hope Against Cancer is proud to announce Leicester Riders player Harrison Gamble as its new Sports Ambassador.
Harrison and his Riders teammates will also be supporting the charity in its launch of a Christmas jumper range, currently on sale through More Than A Gift at Narborough Hall. The team also wore the jumpers for a recent promotional video and is encouraging members of the public to show their support for Hope Against Cancer themselves, not only by buying the jumpers, but also by holding their own ‘Christmas Jumper Party’ or Christmas-themed party to raise money for Hope.
Harrison explains: “Hope Against Cancer is such a fantastic charity and does so much for people in Leicester with cancer. Becoming their Sports Ambassador is a proud moment for me and I’m really keen to spread the word about the amazing work this charity does. The Christmas jumpers are a great way for people to show their support too, especially as Christmas is coming up – they’re comfortable and I really like the design!”
Proceeds from the jumpers will go towards Hope Against Cancer and the charity’s work in researching cancer and supporting clinical trials at the Hope Facility at Leicester Royal Infirmary. The charity hopes that with Harrison’s support, it can continue developing its research projects and supporting clinical trials in Leicestershire and Rutland.
Nigel Rose, Hope Against Cancer Chief Executive, added: “To have Harrison Gamble as our new Sports Ambassador is an amazing moment for us here at Hope Against Cancer. From the start, he’s been keen to get involved in our activities and we’re especially delighted that he and the Riders team featured our Christmas jumpers in a promotional video. We’re really looking forward to working with Harrison on our future events and we’re confident he’ll be vital in raising our profile even further.”
