Shop, Skate & Stay later in Leicester this Christmas

Sick of dashing through the snow? We have good news! You can take your time over your Christmas shopping this year and spend a little longer finding the perfect gift, all thanks to an extended late-night Leicester Park & Ride service funded by Leicester’s Business Improvement District (BID Leicester).

On Mondays to Saturdays this December, buses to all three Park & Ride sites will continue to run every 30 minutes after 7pm. Departure times of the final service will vary throughout the month, with the latest buses departing the city centre at 10.15pm during the week commencing Monday 17 December.

If you need a handy way to remember when the last bus is, the final service will leave the city centre 15 minutes after Highcross closing time. That’s plenty of time to get back to your bus stop without any of the usual rushing around making sure you’ve ticked everyone off the list.

The late-night service isn’t just great news for shoppers; there’s so many great things going on in Leicester in December you’ll need the extra hours to make the most of it all! Jubilee Square Ice Rink returns to the city centre and is 50% bigger than last year – that’s extra room for all your friends and family to take to the ice! Kids can meet Santa in New Market Square, and all ages will be mesmerised by the beautiful light installation outside Leicester Cathedral as part of Christmas in the Gardens.

All three Park & Ride sites offer free parking, with buses into the city centre costing only £4 for a group of 5 people travelling in the same car.

So why not make the most of Christmas in Leicester from morning ‘til night and use the Leicester Park & Ride?
