The Cradock Arms ride for Hope Against Cancer

Jonny’s day job is running The Cradock Arms pub in Knighton, a busy family friendly pub which is at the heart of its local community. At the beginning of September the pub and its customers held a charity event raising £3,000 for local charity Hope Against Cancer.

This charity day was just the start of the journey for Jonny as he and pub regulars Ted Taylor and Stephen Jose are cycling from Leicester City Centre Clock Tower to Sheffield and back – that’s 320 miles! –  in September to hopefully reach their target of £7,000 for the charity.

“Pubs raise a staggering amount for charity every year. It’s great to see The Cradock supporting this local charity. I am so proud of Jonny and the guys for doing this and for all his hard work in training and gathering the support of his locals. Before Jonny took on the Cradock he had a hard time, even being told he may never walk or work again so to see him training so hard and doing this cycle is an amazing achievement and I wish them all the best!” Kia Ryan, Everards.

Jonny, his regulars and so many others have been touched by this terrible disease and wish to support a local charity in the fight against it. They are raising money via Just Giving at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/jonathan-wainwright2
