A new wine & spirit tasting group launches in Leicester city centre next week on the 10th September. The Sippers Club opens its first bi-monthly event next Tuesday and hopes to attract beginner wine tasters into the fold.
The clubs founder Verity explains “many people want to learn more about wine and spirit tasting but struggle to find beginner events where they are completely guided through the process. Our aim is to create an event that’s relaxed, friendly and fun.”
The club launches with a series on Sherry, Verity tells us “despite the stereotypes, sherry wines span some of the lightest, driest wines in the world to some of the sweetest possible. We’ll be tasting a selection of sherry wines paired with food, we’re even starting the night with a short talk so people can learn more about this famous fortified wine.
The Club has worked in conjunction with Evingtons Wines Merchant and James’ Café Bistro. Debs Oloye who runs the Bistro “We’re very excited to be working with The Sippers Club Leicester on this event. James has developed a taster menu of food parings that will specifically complement the wines being served at the launch.”
