Tom hits the pedals for pancreatic cancer

Tom, 35, from Queniborough, will be taking on the challenge of riding in Prudential Ride London on the 28th July to raise vital funds and awareness for national charity – Pancreatic Cancer Action.

Tom will be tackling the 100-mile bike ride in memory of his Grandma who sadly passed in 2005 from pancreatic cancer – the UK’s 5th biggest cancer killer.

Tom says, “In January of this year we lost a close family friend, almost in the same manner as my Grandma, I was shocked to find out that in all those years there hadn’t really been any major breakthroughs. This made the decision easy when it came to choosing a charity to ride for.”

“I once got stuck in London during the ride and I remember watching the cyclists coming over Putney bridge. I just stood there thinking ‘I want to do this’.”

“I have always enjoyed cycling but wouldn’t say I was any good until recently! My local riding group (Tour De Queniborough) have helped in so many ways.”

Ali Stunt, Founder of Pancreatic Cancer Action, said: “We are delighted that Tom is taking in the Prudential Ride London for Pancreatic Cancer Action.”

“We couldn’t continue our work without generous people like Tom, so please support him in this incredible challenge.”
