Lovebullets

Lovebullets is a fashion brand that is based on the idea of transforming goods that would have been destroyed into interesting pieces of art, jewellery and accessories. Interestingly, the concept was initially dreamed up as a fantasy tale by Creative Director Martin Jegede. The tale alleged that five ‘Love Creatures’ froze the destructive weapons of an evil dictator and transformed them into something of positive power and beauty. It is this concept that Lovebullets bases their entire business upon.

Since launching at Glastonbury in 2008, the company has received attention from high profile figures including: Lily Allen, Kelly Osborne and Pixie Geldof. So, their quirky yet imaginative concept has clearly hit the high note with some stars.

Lilac Pearl Textiles

Run from Makers Yard by Leigh Burrows, Lilac Pearl Textiles creates small batches of products or one-offs using ethical fabrics. Leigh has always been a collector of textiles, travelling far and wide to find various garments, like a kimono, to be used for her work. She loves using colourful and unusual fabrics to create beautiful bespoke designs.

Her collection ranges from scarves to tweed jackets to light shades to cushions. Vintage fabric is restyled to create an original design and new fabric is chosen based on its ethical background and uniqueness.  Clients can also work with Leigh to make their own creations and ideas come to life!

Rebecca Winder Fine Jewellery

Rebecca Winder established Rebecca Winder Fine Jewellery after 20 years in the industry designing, teaching and making her own jewellery. With so much experience behind her she decided to take the plunge and go it alone. Since graduating, Rebecca has freelanced for a range of high profile jewellers in the UK as well as teaching new designers the tricks of her trade.

The focal point of the company is to make jewellery that is both socially and economically responsible and that can be afforded by many. To do this, she uses fair trade, fair mined gold or silver which ensures that all of her material comes from an ethical source. This way, the conditions of the workers who mine the jewellery are considered and the risk of exploitation is completely diminished.
