New Wedding Venue at Old Registry Office Building in Leicester City Centre

Leicester city centre is set to welcome a brand new wedding venue in 2017 as the former Leicester Register Office building on Pocklingtons Walk reopens its doors as The Registry. The venue, which is currently in the final stages of refurbishment, will be opening in February.

The Registry will provide a wonderful setting for weddings right in the heart of the city, with space for up to 100 guests, sit down catering, day room and a separate bar area. The building itself is steeped in history having been Leicester’s principal register office for 125 years. Since its closure in 2005 the building has stood empty and now it will be brought back to life and once again welcome couples through the door to celebrate their special day, with full ceremony or wedding breakfast and reception only options. Other events will also be held at The Registry such as murder mystery nights and Christmas parties.

The history of the building has played an important part of the renovation process. Venue manager, Tim Sturgess, commented, “So many people will have memories of getting married here, or attending a friend or family member’s wedding at the former register office. We’re delighted that we can now bring the venue back to life. It’s a fantastic building and full of character which we thought important to retain, so we have decorated to enhance its elegant appearance. We’re delighted with how the venue looks and look forward to showing guests around.

To launch the venue they are holding a competition to win a premium wedding package worth £10,000 to one lucky winner. For details on how to enter please visit www.theregistryleicester.co.uk.

Viewings will be available from February 10th so either call 0116 3196970 or email [email protected] for priority bookings.
