Winter at Loughborough Town Hall

The Winter season is truly upon us as Loughborough Town Hall hosts another packed programme of shows and performances from the world of entertainment and theatre.

Their season is packed with some of the hottest comedy talent around, kicking off with multi-award winning comedian Russell Kane. Packing more energy than a Duracell factory, Russell’s RS Turbo laugh engine will motor through love, family and life – once again proving that the fast and the curious amongst us, see more stuff, and get more done.

Further into the season, they are joined by Joel Dommett, who brings everybody bang up to date on his life since his last live show after his appearance in I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!

Later into 2020, they welcome Julian Clary, as he brings his highly-acclaimed Born To Mince tour to Loughborough, alongside Mock The Week panellist Andy Parsons, whose Healing the Nation show has been described by The Guardian as “cracking adlibbing…a joke-rich rallying call for a better Britain”.

And fans of the popular ITV series Love Island will be delighted to hear that the wonderfully recognisable voice of Iain Stirling brings his new comedy tour Failing Upwards as he explores his inability to function in the most basic of public settings, social media’s constant pressure to “live your best life” and that one time a man stole his shoes.

There’s plenty for our younger patrons to enjoy too throughout the season, as Peppa Pig’s Best Day Ever gets everybody ready for a road-trip full of fun adventures, from castles to caves, dragons to dinosaurs and ice-creams to muddy puddles! Prepare for the brand new Peppa Pig live show packed full of songs, games and laughter!

And then into Easter, let your hair down and get tangled in a brand-new musical adaptation of the classic fairy tale Rapunzel! Immersion Theatre proudly presents a witty, tongue-in-cheek retelling of the family favourite
complete with a laugh out loud script, a host of catchy songs, heaps of audience interaction, and an exciting array of magical characters.

Live music takes its place within the programme too, as welcome Beyond The Barricade to Loughborough, featuring pastprincipal performers from Les Misérables, performing some of the best loved songs from Broadway and the West End, ending with a stunning finale from Les Misérables.
And don’t forget to pick out your blue suede shoes as The Elvis Years takes an unforgettable journey through over 50 golden greats that span over three decades – from the early Sun Records hits to the majestic Las
Vegas performances.

Storytelling in its many different forms also takes its place in the programme, as Blackeyed Theatre return to Loughborough, bringing Charlotte Bronte’s literary classic Jane Eyre to life on stage, providing a moving and unforgettable portrayal of one woman’s quest for equality and freedom.

After appearing in her own Channel 5 hit series Our Yorkshire Farm, Yorkshire Shepherdess Amanda Owen presents a frank, funny and informative new show, sharing heart-warming tales and honest anecdotes from her remarkable farming, family life in North Yorkshire. It’s a life that has almost gone in today’s modern world, one ruled by animals and the four seasons.
