In QUAD Gallery the summer exhibition explores themes relating to robots, artificial intelligence, online networks and synthetic biology. Our Friends Electric, Adventures in Robotics, AI and Other Stories features film works; robotic sculptures and automata, and prints and drawings produced by robots or AI ‘life-forms’. The exhibition looks at a future increasingly shaped by technological advance, concerned with the idea of robots and AI replacing humans in the workplace, while advances in robotics and synthetic biological research also point to a future free of disease, where we live longer and our lives are made easier. Our Friends Electric, Adventures in Robotics, AI and Other Stories will be on display in QUAD Gallery, Derby until 10th September and is free to visit.  For information see: http://www.derbyquad.co.uk/exhibition/our-friends-electric.aspx
