QUAD will have daily ‘Cine Kids’ family friendly film screenings and creative and digital workshops for all ages during May and over May Half-term.

Films screening over half-term are: The Boss Baby in the new Disney animation voiced by Alec Baldwin. A suit-wearing briefcase-carrying baby pairs up with his seven-year old brother to stop the dastardly plot of the CEO of Puppy Co. The Boss Baby (U) screens at QUAD from 27th May to 4th June. Also screening for Cine Kids in May is the original version of Pinocchio (U) from 1940, the story of a living puppet who, with the help of a cricket which serves as his conscience, must prove himself worthy to become ‘a real boy’ and Power Rangers (12A) the latest rendition of the popular Sci-fi fantasy featuring young people with super powers. Cine Kids are family friendly screenings for families with children of all ages, taking place daily on weekends and school holidays All tickets are £3.50 for Cine Kids Club members. For aspiring filmmakers aged seven to eleven years there is a new term of KidsQUAD Film Club. The theme of the film-making sessions will be Robots in Disguise! Yoing people wioll work with a filmmaker to script, star in and make a robot-themed action movie. KidsQUAD Film Club presents: Robots in Disguise! takes place on Saturday mornings from 13th to 27th May, and then from 10th June to 1st July. The cost is £77.00 for all seven sessions. Over May half term there will be creative and digital events for all ages.

Bank Holiday Make And Take Day is a free, family friendly, artist-led workshop. With plenty of art and craft materials available, just bring your imagination to make whatever you want and take it home afterwards! Bank Holiday Make And Take Day is open to all ages and takes place on Monday 29th May, drop in between 11:00am and 4:00pm.

For children aged seven to eleven years KidsQUAD Animation Club: Voyage to the Stars is a chance to script, design and animate a story about adventurous astronauts venturing to outer space and takes place on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31stMay from 10:30am to 12:30pm. Children can be left unaccompanied during the workshop, the cost £22.00 for both sessions and booking is essential.

 MinecraftLAB: Home of the Future is a competition for young people aged eight to sixteen to design the homes of the future using Minecraft. Participants will have two hours to research, design and build their creations before pitching their ideas to a professional architect from Guy Taylor Associates. Digital studios MinecraftLAB: Home of the Future takes place on Wednesday 31st May, from 2:00pm to 4:30pm, the cost is £6 per person to take part, places are limited and booking is recommended.

During Children’s Art Week, running from Saturday 10th until Sunday 18th June, QUAD has two events. Discover Arts Award Afternoon is a chance to explore QUAD’s current exhibition and gain a ‘Discover’ Arts Award Certificate. Suitable for those with children aged five and above, QUAD staff will help you document your visit and share the experience using the Arts Award workbooks. Discover Arts Award Afternoon takes place on Saturday 10th June, from 1:00pm to 5:00pm, the cost is £10 per young person, which includes workbook and certificate. Booking is essential

 Creative iPad Fun for Under 5’s is a free drop-in session for parents / carers with children aged 0 to five years to explore the world of creativity and play through apps designed for young people with QUADs Digital Participation Curator.
