Attendees can look forward to two days of stunning runway presentations and art exhibitions
providing a platform for local and international artists, designers and poets to showcase their talent. In early 2022, Natalie Sakinah established the Birmingham Fashion Council with the exclusive goal of fostering a creative community in the West Midlands. This community aims to exhibit, mentor, and support local creatives. Since its inception, Natalie has recruited board members. Together, they have organized quarterly networking events and sewing classes. Additionally, they have scheduled the release of a fashion and creative arts program for later this year.

Natalie Sakinah: Birmingham is a melting pot of exceptional creatives and has been for many years. Furthermore we see neighbouring cities with established fashion communities but in Birmingham that hasn’t always been the case. As the second city it’s about time that we have our own official fashion weekend celebrating the many artists and designers in the city.

The Birmingham fashion council believes everyone deserves an opportunity within the fashion
industry and strongly stands with equality and diversity. They are proud to support and implement equity (which often has to be fought for in the fashion industry) through Scholarship programme. Offering creatives who may face financial difficulties the opportunity to exhibit in the art gallery, runway or stalls .
At the forefront of their mission, the Birmingham Fashion Council focuses on supporting models who may face barriers due to a disability. Additionally, they dedicate a portion of the gallery solely for cultural artists, exemplifying their commitment to inclusivity. This is to highlight and celebrate the amazing contribution of ethnic artists within the UK.
