Earlier this month, Birmingham’s VIPs joined Castle Fine Art for the launch of its brand new flagship store in Birmingham.

The 6,000 sq ft space is Castle Fine Art’s biggest gallery yet, taking pride of place in its new prominent location at the front of the Mailbox.

Over 100 guests, including the Lord Mayor Mohammed Azim and Lady Mayoress Ms Bushra Bi, celebrated with the gallery and Washington Green Fine Art teams. Managing Director, Ian Weatherby-Blythe took to the floor to talk about how proud the business is of the city and its Brummie roots. He spoke passionately about Birmingham as a thriving city and why they chose to open a flagship store here, rather than London. He was also joined by Head of Marketing, Daniela Quinlan, who talked about the inspiration behind the new gallery and their hopes for it to become a space for the city to be proud of.

Guests enjoyed drinks from the gallery’s permanent bar feature, canapés by Malmaison Birmingham, and a live soundtrack from Elegant Entertainment.

Adding a splash of colour to the designer shopping destination, the new-look Castle Fine Art is the latest in the company’s network of 38 galleries across the UK.

Four times the size of the previous Mailbox gallery, it is home to some of the biggest names in art; from Bob Dylan, Ronnie Wood and Lorenzo Quinn, to Marvel, Billy Connolly and pioneer of the Pop Art movement, James Francis Gill.
