Stephen Lawrence Murder Trial Judge To Talk About His ‘Life In The Law’ At Edgbaston School

One of the legal sector’s most high-profile judges, the Rt Hon. Sir Colman Treacy, is to take to the stage for a one-night only, audience-with event at Hallfield School in Edgbaston this month. Treacy, who practiced mainly in the courts of Birmingham, will talk about his Life in the Law, which included presiding over the Stephen Lawrence trial – one of the country’s most high-profile and contentious murder cases.

The event will be taking place as part of the Hallfield Insights series on 24th March, which was launched by the team at Hallfield School in Edgbaston at the beginning of 2022.  Open to the public, it’s a rare opportunity to hear the inspiring stories of individuals who have excelled in their field – from musicians and lawyers, to astronauts and doctors.

The free event, in partnership with Birmingham Law Society – the largest regional society of its kind, which represents more than 5,000 legal professionals across Birmingham and the Greater Midlands – will take place on Thursday 24th March from 6:30pm and guests can book their tickets here.

Keith Morrow, Headmaster at Hallfield School, comments: “It’s an absolute honour to be welcoming the Rt Hon. Sir Colman Treacy to Hallfield School. Not only is he our guest speaker at the Hallfield Insights event, but he’s also generously giving his time to come back into the school and speak with our Seniors pupils about his life and career.”

All Hallfield Insights speakers are provided with a fee from Hallfield School for their time, 100% of which is donated directly to a charity (or charities) of their choice. Sir Colman has chosen to support Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice and Lively Minds.
