Birmingham’s theatre has announced a stellar line-up of new productions for 2023 including West End and Broadway smash-hit musicals.

Kicking off the exciting lineup in March is SIX. The international smash hit musical which centres around the six wives of Henry VIII. Each of them shares the stories that embedded them in history—the musical returns to Birmingham Hippodrome after a sell-out in 2021.
A brand new musical, The SpongeBob Musical arrives next in April. It’s heading to Birmingham as part of its premiere UK tour. I’m sure fans of the hit Nickelodeon show will thoroughly enjoy this show Between 11-15 April.
Later in October 2023 smash-hit musical Everybody’s Talking About Jamie is back on tour. After a record-breaking three-year West End residency, a sold-out UK & Ireland Tour and an Amazon Studios award-winning film; it’s so exciting that it’s back! Also in October on its first ever UK & Ireland Tour comes the devilishly delicious tale of young golden ticket winner Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectionary wizard Willy Wonka. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory – The Musical heads to Birmingham Hippodrome Tues 17 Oct – Sun 5 Nov.
This announcement comes on the tail end of recently announced highlights for the Birmingham theatre. The Lincoln Center Theater’s critically acclaimed production of My Fair Lady heads into Birmingham after its run in London between 8-26 March. There is also the return of Titanic The Musical between 18-22 April.
But before all of this, there are loads more to enjoy at Birmingham Hippodrome this year! Their festive season is jam-packed with fun for all the family. Birmingham Royal Ballet will bring Sir Peter Wright’s world-famous production of The Nutcracker to the stage. You can also enjoy the UK’s biggest regional panto in December. Dick Whittington will be this year’s pantomime at Birmingham Hippodrome so definitely book your tickets for that!
