Birmingham Cocktail Weekend proves that all good things come in fours, returning for its fourth year, the city will be bringing together forty venues, all offering a signature cocktail for just £4.
With a star-studded selection of venues- spanning the city from the Mailbox to the Jewellery Quarter, and Broad Street to Colmore Row- #BCW2018 is set to be bigger and better than ever before, with more brand-new, innovative cocktails on offer to wristband-holders.
Returning 13- 15 July, Birmingham Cocktail Weekend is set to shake up the city once more, this time returning with a brand-new hub and headline sponsor, renowned distillery, Edinburgh Gin. Wristband-wearers will be treated to exclusive tastings at the new hub location, the Urban Room at the Mailbox, before heading out to explore the best of the city’s bar scene, one cocktail at a time.
From the Edinburgh Gin Hub @ The Mailbox, festival-goers will be in perfect proximity to BCW veterans Malmaison and Harvey Nichols, along with Pennyblacks, Churchills, Tom’s Kitchen, and AC by Marriott Birmingham.In addition, Gas Street Social makes a much anticipated return to festival line up! Wristband wearers will also have the option to enjoy a cocktail in the clouds at Marco Pierre-White’s Steakhouse at the Cube, making the #BCW2018 hub location a perfect start to the weekend. Just around the corner, home of the original BCW Hub, Island Bar, will also be taking part. They’ll be joined by nearby venues the New Alexandra Theatre, The Victoria and, new for the 2018 line up, Radisson Blu Birmingham.
Continuing to the city centre, wristband-wearers can enjoy a tipple at tried and tested venues such as last year’s ‘Best Cocktail of Cocktail Weekend’ winner Be At One alongside Chung Ying Central, and The Lost & Found. Bodega will be bringing the South American sunshine to this year’s event and they are joined by Buffalo & Rye, Amantia and Cosy Club. Bennett’s Hill’s newest addition Dirty Martini will be serving up a signature cocktail, as will another fresh face to the city, Revolucion De Cuba. They are joined by Temple Street veterans The Botanist and another brand new venue for 2018, Sabai Sabai!
The city’s business district, Colmore BID is certainly not to be missed. Venues that are joining the mix include last year’s hub location, Hotel du Vin, alongside Gusto, Gaucho and The Jekyll & Hyde. Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery’s very own Edwardian Tearooms will be creating a cocktail masterpiece and Snow Hill favourite, Bar Opus, joins the BCW line up for the very first time!
Just a short walk or a tram ride away, be sure to head over to the Jewellery Quarter where the line-up of venues has grown for 2018. The Birmingham Whisky Club and The Vanguard at 1000 Trades join old favourite The Rose Villa Tavern for BCW2018. Those are three stops you won’t want to miss!
Cocktail connoisseurs can enjoy a canal-side stroll to visit two new venues for BCW2018. Take in the scenery at the Canal House then rejoice with fellow gin-lovers at The Distillery.
Venues that are sure to be the life of the party can be found on Broad Street, so be sure to visit the Bulls Head, Pushkar, and Rub Smokehouse for a signature cocktail, or two!
Brindley Place will be alive and kicking for #BCW2018… Enjoy the summer weather on Pitcher & Piano’s canal-side terrace, check out BCW newbie, Recess at Hilton Garden Inn, and finish off with a late night of cocktails and dancing at Nuvo, another fresh face for this year.
