Birmingham Walkathon 2023

If like many others you have been wondering how you can make a positive difference in 2023, the famous Birmingham Walkathon is back!

The Birmingham Walkathon takes place on 2nd April 2023. Get involved in supporting Birmingham-based charities, including Help Harry Help Others.

The event has a rich history with the first event starting in the early 1980s, and the last walk taking place in 2013. Over the years the walk has attracted up to 10,000 people annually. It has raised over £5 million to date.

Signing up for the Birmingham Walkathon won’t only improve your own fitness and mental health. Taking part will enable you to make a difference in the lives of those supported by charities in the city. Whatever your age and ability, you can take part.

Overhaul your fitness and take on the full 26 miles, or join in for a short lap around Kings Heath Park and soak up the atmosphere, you can do whatever works for you.

If walking isn’t your thing but you’d like to get involved and contribute to an exciting day for the community, there are 300 volunteer roles available.

Help Harry Help Others is the driving force behind the revival of the popular Birmingham Walkathon. This cancer support charity was initially created by local lad Harry Moseley who sadly lost his battle with cancer in 2011, aged just 11 years old. Harry wanted to bring people together and make a difference for all those affected by cancer. Harry’s Mom, Georgie Moseley made Help Harry Help Others a registered charity in 2012 and it continues to support cancer patients and their families today. Georgie wanted to bring the famous Walkathon back as an annual event for Brummies to feel motivated and connected.

The aim of the Walkathon is to re-engage the community, support post-pandemic mental health issues and raise much-needed funds for Help Harry Help Others, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, NSPCC Birmingham, Birmingham & Solihull Women’s Aid and Birmingham Mind

All charities are close to the hearts of many in the Midlands.
