The bistro is at the heart of Hotel du Vin Birmingham. Experience an elegant and informal setting for lunch and dinner – where guests can meet, celebrate or simply pass the time – at the classic, French-styled bistro.

At our Bistro du Vin Birmingham we like to keep things classic and simple. Inspired by French home-style cooking with robust earthy dishes and slow-cooked foods, Bistro du Vin’s menu has an undeniably French/British flavour combination.  Our Chef Director, Matt Powell, continually travels the country to source the selected artisan produce and working with his key suppliers he incorporates these fine ingredients into the menus.

It’s about serving up dishes that rejoice the fresh and seasonal produce. It’s about enjoying fairly-priced à la carte dining in a warm and relaxing setting. Choose from a selection of our new a la carte starters like chipirones and courgette flower fritos and Severn and Wye smoked salmon classic, our signature smoked salmon served with soft boiled quails eggs, shallots, capers and cornichons served under a whisky smoked cloche. Mains include the classic chateaubriand, best served between two, Devon crab cake served with a lemon butter sauce and ratatouille baked Burford brown eggs. What better way to finish off the perfect meal with an autumnal classic baked pumpkin cheesecake, or comforting baked chocolate and pear pudding served with a honey crème fraiche.

All this served by attentive and exceptionally knowledgeable waiting staff, happy to explain the dishes, the ingredients, and how our talented Chefs create them. Always on hand, our award winning Sommeliers are also ready to advise, guide, match or recommend the perfect wine.
