We’ll take our tea with two sugars … and a gin cocktail please! Harvey Nichols Birmingham has teamed up with Chase Distillery to offer a host of special gin-themed events this summer, including a temptingly tasty afternoon tea, a five-course dinner and a series of masterclasses.
From Monday June 3 through to the end of August you can raise your teacups to everyone’s favourite tipple with a limited-edition Chase Afternoon Tea. Served in the store’s stylish Brasserie, the themed treat has been created with the help of the famous gin company with flavours inspired by its most popular bottles.
Perfect for gin-thusiasts, the menu boasts all manner of tasty mini savouries including savoury cheesecake with onion and cardamom relish, Seville-marmalade and coriander pulled pork, pea hummus and potato rosti and smoked mackerel mousse. Sweets treats include Bramley apple mousse with ginger, strawberries and elderflower cream and pink grapefruit panna cotta as well as scones with clotted cream and preserves. Cocktails include the GB Clover Club (Chase GB Gin, lemon juice, rhubarb and raspberry syrup, and egg white) and the Rosemaund Royale (Chase Vodka, Chase Rhubarb & Bramley Apple Gin, ginger syrup and Harvey Nichols Champagne).
The Chase Afternoon Tea will be available Monday-Saturday, 1pm-4pm, and Sunday, 3pm-5pm, from June 3 until the end of August, priced at £32 per person.
Continuing the collaboration with Chase Distillery, Harvey Nichols hosts an intimate dinner evening on Friday July 26, pairing five courses with five gins. The event will be hosted by the brand’s ambassador Grace Holcroft and Head Chef Stewart Mackie will be on hand to talk you through the dishes.
Enjoy gin-cured gravlax and smoked salmon mousse with Chase GB Extra Dry Gin; gin-marinated artichoke, goats curd and burnt apple purée with Chase Rhubarb & Bramley Apple Gin; marmalade and gin marinated pork tenderloin, potato foam and smoked pancetta with Seville Marmalade Gin; grapefruit lollipop and tonic granita with Chase Pink Grapefruit & Pomelo Gin; before finishing off with smoked vanilla parfait, mulberry consommé and gin mousse with Chase Oak-aged Sloe & Mulberry Gin.
The Chase Gin Dinner will be served in the Harvey Nichols Brasserie on Friday July 26 from 7pm, priced at £65 per person.
And for those looking to learn more about Chase, Harvey Nichols Wine Specialist Siofra O’Brien will host three Saturday masterclasses over the coming months with a journey through the Distillery’s spirits, from its first, award-winning Chase vodka, through to its latest gin creation. Guests can enjoy two cocktails and four samples, as well as olives and a cheeseboard.
The Chase Masterclasses will take place in the Harvey Nichols Wine Shop on June 8, July 13 and August 17 at 1pm, 3pm and 5pm. The sessions cost £20 per person.
