EMPOWERING BOOK FOR TEENS CREATED BY BIRMINGHAM JOURNALIST AND PRESENTER

Because teenage life doesn’t come with a rule book, award winning BBC and ITV News journalist and presenter, Suzanne Virdee, has written her own – empowering girls not to just survive their teen years but to thrive!

A Girl’s Guide To Being Awesome! tackles all the tricky topics that growing up in the 21st Century brings including how to survive the 24/7 noise of social media, the impact of easily accessible online porn, relationships, body image and self-esteem, plus how to cope with the pressure of school work and working out what you want to achieve in life.

The pandemic has brought with it a whole new set of worries and anxieties too. The book tackles issues of anxiety and depression, and how to sparkle at life and get noticed for all the right reasons.

Sad to say one in four girls in the UK have depression by the time they hit 14 – that’s 166,000 girls. Although growing up has never been easy it’s tougher now than ever before.

The book is uplifting and positive, interactive and packed full of helpful resources. It helps build resilience and empowers girls to ‘think big’ so they really do follow their dreams rather than settle for second best.

“My book is a girl’s personal cheerleader – because it informs, inspires, and boosts confidence. My message to all girls is that it doesn’t matter where you are now, it’s where you’re going that counts.”

A Girl’s Guide To Being Awesome! is aimed at girls aged 11upwards.
