With its hand-painted Art Nouveau bottle, Perrier-Jouët Belle Epoque Rosé 2006, £230, is renowned for its perfumed bouquet and elegant palate of raspberry, cherry, peony and roses. Sublimely long on the finish, and with great ability to age and improve over time, it’s the stylish way to toast any special occasion.
From one of the world’s most loved Champagne houses, Moët & Chandon Brut Impérial NV Gold Limited Edition, £50, offers a vibrant and alluring nose of pear, peach and citrus. The palate is a great balance between the generous aromas of white fruits and the fine, elegant bubbles. Perfectly pairs with sushi, scallops, oysters and white meats.
Veuve Clicquot Yellow Label NV, £57, is a fine and elegant balance between freshness and complexity. The nose is reminiscent of white fruits and raisins, evolving in vanilla and brioche. On the palate, it’s powerful and well-structured. Serve on its own or with lightly cooked seafood, fish tartare or duck.
An exquisite accompaniment to a decadent breakfast, afternoon tea or garden party, England’s famous Nyetimber Cuvée Chérie Demi-Sec, £35.99, is backlit with lemon zest, runny honey, orchard fruit, clementine and meringue; the sweetness and acidity in perfect balance.
Harvey Nichols Prosecco di Valdobbiadene, £16, is produced by the Sorelle Bronca estate and combines hallmark fruit and frivolity with complexity and finesse. Fabulously fruity, it’s bursting with flavours of pear, red apple and ripe peach all set against a subtle mineral charged backdrop. Drink on its own or with light canapé style nibbles.
Château Léoube’s Sparkling de Léoube, £40.50, is bursting with crunchy peach, pink grapefruit, red apple and redcurrant teamed with delicate notes of toasted hazelnuts and almonds. Owned by Daylesford Organic, this pure and simple tipple captures the essence of the French Riviera.
