Free Screenings of Sport, Films and Festivals at The Mailbox This Summer

Visitors to the Mailbox will be able to enjoy the pick of the summer’s sporting and cultural highlights on the big screen, with a programme of special events, music and festivals.

The curated schedule of entertainment begins with the centre’s Urban Room is transformed into a comfortable lounge area, complete with a 4m x 2.5m screen showcasing a summer of sport including the Formula 1 Grand Prix, Tour de France and The Ashes.

The summer’s most anticipated television moments, including highlights from the Reading and Leeds Festival will be broadcast from the centre. A schedule of children’s films will also be shown to keep the little ones entertained during the school holidays, with family favourites such as Ratatouille and The Parent Trap.

Birmingham, Sandwell & Westside Jazz Festival (19th – 28th July) will also return to the centre’s canal side to celebrate its 35th year of live performances.

The Mailbox’s annual food and drink festival, Taste of the Mailbox, will also return this summer from Friday 2nd – Sunday 4th August. From live cooking demonstrations and food sampling, this year’s line-up is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

David Pardoe, head of marketing, retail and tenant engagement at the Mailbox, said: “The summer is the perfect time for the family to spend time together and create long-lasting memories and our summer schedule of live events, festivals and screenings will allow our visitors to do just that.

“We’re committed to providing the best possible experience for our shoppers. Our summer of events will allow breaks from a busy day of shopping to catch up on the summer’s biggest moments. From a range of sports, music and films, we’ve got something for everyone to enjoy.”
