Get Spicy This Summer with Birmingham’s Brand New Food Festival

Hot Sauce Society lands in Birmingham this summer, bringing their inaugural Midlands festival to Digbeth’s iconic Custard Factory.

The Hot Sauce Society event will see over 25 independent hot sauce makers from the UK and beyond gather to serve up a feast of fiery flavours to Birmingham’s chilli lovers. Guests can expect to meet the makers, try, taste, and discover a whole world of speciality hot sauce. DJs will provide the soundtrack, whilst fierce food from Chef Brad Carter, Tacos el Pap, and Prairie Fire will fuel the festivities. The bar will be fully stocked, featuring local brews, exciting one-off collaborative beers, and tongue-tingling drinks from some of Birmingham’s finest cocktail slingers.

Taking place on Saturday 9th July in The Custard Factory’s indoor events space, tickets are now on sale for both sessions (11am to 3pm / 4pm to 8pm) and can be purchased for £7, including a cocktail on arrival (kids under 12 go free).

Visitors will also be able to sample sauces from the UK’s finest purveyors of fierce condiments, including Birmingham’s very own fiery flavour masters Pip’s Hot Sauce, as well as Epicuriosity, local creators of deliciously different small-batch dipping sauces. Highlights from further afield include sauces from Northern spice gurus DevilDog, Bristol-based Lipstick Cowboi, awardwinning YoYo Laos, and frightfully inventive concoctions from Dean of the Dead. With so many independent traders to choose from and chat to on the day, you’re guaranteed to find the flavour and heat level to perfectly match your palate.

Festivities will be fuelled by a line-up of street food legends. Tacos el Pap, the Midlands-based Mexican street food slayers, will be rocking up with their taco truck, and serving up a one-off special created in collaboration with Brummie superstar, Chef Brad Carter.

There will also be a stellar line-up of craft beers and cocktails that pair perfectly with the incredible range of hot sauce on offer. Craft beers will include local brews and one-off collaborations, including brews from Mondo and Dishoom. The Horse with No Name Cocktail Saloon will be serving guests cocktails needs, featuring tongue-tingling drinks designed by some of Birmingham’s best cocktail makers. All guests will find plenty of options to quench their thirst with softs, wines, spirits, and all manner of libations also available.
