GUSTO PLEDGES 10,000 FREE MEALS FOR THE NHS

Local Italian restaurant, Gusto Italian has launched a new campaign. Called Pledge1Cook1, it promises to fund and deliver 10,000 free meals to NHS frontline workers this December.

Staff and guests at its 13 venues will play a vital role in raising funds for the campaign in order to deliver thousands of meals to key frontline workers across local NHS trusts during what is set to be an extremely busy festive period for the emergency services.

Gusto has hand-picked four dishes on its autumn/winter menu, launching this Thursday, that carry the Pledge1Cook1 logo. Guests who order these dishes have the option to donate an additional 50p which will go directly into funding the campaign.

Guests can also support the Pledge1Cook campaign simply by ordering and donating an NHS meal straight from their table in any of its 13 restaurants. In addition, Gusto has set up a digital gift card platform for those wishing to donate online.

Matt Snell, Chief Executive Officer at Gusto Italian, said: “The hospitality industry is full of passionate and selfless people, who in times of difficulty pull together, put others first, and show their true mettle by doing great things. It was incredible to see the acts of kindness back in April, where many operators provided free meals and support for our brilliant frontline heroes.

“The last six months have been extremely challenging, and there’s no doubt more difficult times ahead but we want to give back to the local communities we serve and say thank you to the NHS, through our Pledge1Cook1 campaign.

“We’re once again so grateful to our fantastic partners who’ve stepped up to donate, and I have no doubt that thousands of our generous guests will also do us proud and show their support by getting involved over the coming months.”
