The Electric Cinema, award-winning bartender Robert Wood, Paul John Whisky and The Birmingham Whisky Club have teamed up to turn up the heat in Birmingham this August.
To encourage the mercury to rise and the clouds to part, The Birmingham Whisky Club are holding two fantastic events with Paul John Single Malt whisky. The events have been themed around the home of these fantastic whiskies, Goa in India.
The first of the two events is being held in association with the UK’s oldest working cinema, The Electric and Birmingham’s own independent cocktail haven, Smultronställe. Guests are invited to a special screening of Wes Anderson’s adventure comedy-drama classic ‘The Darjeeling Limited’, whilst enjoying two specially created cocktails (crafted for the event by multi-award winning bartender Robert Wood) and two drams of delicious Paul John Whisky. During the event, guests will learn more about these delicious drams (which have scooped over 50 awards internationally) with their brand ambassador, Shilton Almeida.
For those who are serious about their whisky, a second event (a led tasting) is being held at Brummie fave, The Wellington on Friday 25th. Guests will enjoy five delicious drams from the Paul John Whisky range and get a chance to ask all of their burning questions throughout.
Shilton Almeida, Paul John Whisky Ambassador said: “We’re excited to introduce the discerning drinkers of Birmingham to our delicious drams through these fantastic events. With these events, we want to transport whisky fans to the beautiful white sand beaches and bustling spice markets of Paul John’s spiritual home.”
Amy Seton, Owner of The Birmingham Whisky Club said: “We are delighted to be working with Paul John Whisky and Robert Wood to showcase these amazing whiskies in an unusual and creative way. We look forward to welcoming Shilton to Birmingham for these fun and interactive events.”
The film screening ‘taste-along’ will be held on Thursday 17th August and attendees can opt for sofa (with a ‘text your waiter service’ included) or standard seating. Tickets can be purchased here.
Prices start at £25.50 and include the screening, 2 cocktails and 2 drams of whisky. The second event will be held on Friday 25th August at The Wellington and tickets cost just £20 for an expert-led tasting through five whiskies. Tickets can be purchased here.
