Get your blood pumping this winter with the new Dungeon Lates fright-fest at Warwick Castle. Blending scary storytelling with wicked humour and manic theatrics, this gory production is a strictly adults-only affair, mixing special effects with live performance art.
The gut-wrenching experience starts from 6pm, with a last supper# featuring deathly delights such as Scotch Eyes and Bird’s Legs, washed down by a Bloody Mary before traitors are led on a spine-tingling exploration of the Castle Dungeon. Still peckish? Help yourself if you dare to a light snack of leeches1, or take some ‘Dutch courage’ with a shot of blood2 or a refreshing glass of urine3 served fresh from a human bladder as the Dungeon Dwellers regale you with tales of ailments and dastardly deeds.
Descend into the bowels of the Castle’s Dungeon but keep an eye out for the coffin scum as you weave your way through the darkened innards of the building. History seeps from the walls, with the sinister screams of past inhabitants delighting in the fresh blood of you and your fellow crims.
The first Dungeon Lates event at Warwick Castle takes place on 23 February 2018, with five further events scheduled throughout the year.
Dungeon Lates tour lasts 50minutes, with the Coach House open until 10.30pm for those who can extend their experience by dressing up and share stories of survival with other warriors. Entry is for 18 years and older, with tours costing £24 per person.
If the Dungeon hasn’t claimed you, retreat to the comfort of your on-site lodge for a relaxing overnight stay. Set in woodland on the Castle’s grounds, just a short walk from the Castle itself, select from Woodland or Knight’s lodges, with stays starting from £179 per room* including two days entrance to the Castle, buffet breakfast and car parking.
