Selfridges Birmingham is celebrating the launch of its new children’s shoe department with a special storytelling day on Saturday 7th March, coinciding with World Book Day.
Part of childrenswear, located on Level 1, will be transformed into a fairytale castle, which will play host to a storyteller paying homage to some of the world’s best-loved children’s authors, including Dr Seuss and B J Novak.
Sam Watson, General Manager of Selfridges Birmingham, said of the event: “It couldn’t have been better timing to launch our newly revamped footwear space, which has expanded to include many more leading brands than ever before. The store is now the best destination for childrenswear in the city and we are excited to launch it with a storytelling event, which promises to capture youngsters’ imaginations and ignite their love of books, in the same week as the annual World Book Day.”
Among the new lines in the children’s shoe department are the Gucci New Ace VL leather trainers, ideal for lovers of Dr Seuss’s Green Eggs and Ham, thanks to its signature green and red grosgrain stripes.
