First Look at new Birmingham Neighbourhood, Soho Wharf

Soho Wharf

The new build-to-rent scheme which comprises 752 homes is set to become Birmingham’s most exciting new neighbourhood to live in.

Soho Wharf will be located in the heart of the city south on Dudley Road. The first phase of the development will be complete by the end of February, with 99 apartments and 24 townhouses available to move in from 1st March 2023.

Altogether Birmingham’s new neighbourhood will offer 650 one and two-bedroom apartments and 120 two and three-bedroom townhouses.. All of them will be pet-friendly and joined by beautifully landscaped gardens and public waterfront spaces sitting on the Birmingham Canal Old Line.

The apartments are ideal for young professionals or students looking to live within walking distance from Birmingham city centre and everything it has to offer.

The townhouses are perfect for families with children, with 61 of the 99 apartments and 3 of the 24 townhouses discounted to 20% market rent, offering affordable units.

Inside the apartments are modern furnishings and neutral tones, offering a contemporary living space. Each is complete with high spec, modern bathrooms and fully fitted kitchens using Smeg appliances. The majority of apartments also include private balconies, and for those with their own furniture, 10% of the apartments available will remain unfurnished.

The townhouses are laid out in a semi-detached fashion and all benefit from generously sized private gardens, balconies, and their own dedicated carpark space. Children can also enjoy the fully equipped onsite playground, and Barford Primary school is a stone’s throw away, rated Good by Ofsted. With a key focus on sustainability, the townhouses are also fitted with solar panels along with electrical charging points in the carpark spaces.

Two central green spaces, The Meadow and the Garden, total 38% of the site, providing a vast amount of desirable outdoor space and a community feel. Another green space located canal-side will provide fluid connectivity for direct access to the city centre via a new public bridge which is set to open on 3rd April 2023.

Soho Wharf is being funded by Heimstaden Bostad, a leading residential real estate company who offer long-term rentals throughout Europe with the vision of enriching peoples’ lives through their ‘Friendly Homes’ ethos.
