SOLIHULL POLICE GET RADIO BOOST THANKS TO THE BID

Solihull Police have received brand new radios thanks to funding applied for by Solihull BID. The Business Improvement District for Solihull town centre work alongside the Police on the Retail Radio scheme to help shoppers and premises remain safe.

Aware of the need for up to date and reliable equipment, the BID successfully applied for backing from the Active Citizens Fund launched by the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner. The funds were used to purchase state-of-the-art radios for Solihull neighbourhood policing teams including those who cover the town centre.

Businesses across the town centre are linked in with the Police, the BID Street Wardens Council enforcement officers, the Touchwood and Mell Square security staff and CCTV operators via the retail radio system.
