This summer, Birmingham Botanical Gardens invites you to a whole host of summer activities, including a visit from PAW patrol, a circus, and the annual teddy bears’ picnic.
On Wednesday 1st August Chase and Marshall from PAW Patrol will be making personal appearances at intervals throughout the day – Don’t forget your camera! Also on offer is a 6-month family membership in the price of a family ticket – what’s not to love?
No summer is complete without a trip to the circus. Roll up and join the spectacular show at the Gardens on Tuesday 21 August and prepare to be amazed as jugglers, clowns, plate-spinners and magicians take centre stage. Various activities for children and families will be adding to the magic across the weekend, including face painting. Three admission slots are available and tickets are priced at £5 per ticket (standard admission rates apply) – see the website for booking and information.
The annual Teddy Bears’ Picnic on Wednesday 22 August is the highlight of every Birmingham bears’ calendar. Little ones and their furry friends are invited to bring along a picnic and join the party, complete with children’s entertainer Bibbledy Bob and face painting. The Teddy Bears’ Picnic is free for members to attend and is included with general admission.
If none of these take your fancy, why not dust off your best 70s bellbottoms and knee-high platform boots for an unforgettable evening with Abba tribute band, Swede Dreamz, Friday 24 August! Dancing Queens will be encouraged to sing along as the look-alike band perform a long list of classic hits, such as Mamma Mia, Waterloo and Super Trouper. No need to Take a Chance on the weather – Swede Dreamz will be performing indoors. The bar will be open from 7pm until doors close at 11.30pm. Head to the website for further details.
James Wheeler, chief executive of Birmingham Botanical Gardens, said: “We are very excited to share our summer programme with everyone this year. As you would expect, this time of year is glorious at the Gardens! We aim to host events that are fun yet affordable, so that families can return to make memories here time and time again. With this in mind, we have a variety of events taking place, whatever your fancy.
He continued, “We hope that our timetable will offer some great ideas for those that might be struggling to come up with new ways to entertain the family this summer!”
If you’re coming along to any of our events, why not also try and enter the summer social competition! Tag Birmingham Botanical Gardens in photos of yourselves, along with the hashtag #BBGSummerSocialComp and you could win a return day ticket for the family!
