Calthorpe Estates is hosting a day of celebrations and a community event to mark its 300 year anniversary this September.
On Sunday 17 September from 12 to 5pm the Edgbaston Tricentenary Festival is being held at the Botanical Gardens in Edgbaston.
The event is free to attend and visitors can expect a host of activities and entertainment to suit all ages, from vintage rides and a treasure hunt trail, to craft activities, demonstrations and stalls, as well as ‘gastro’ food and beverage offering.
A host of local performers, entertainers and jazz bands, including The Glamaphones, will also be on hand to get everyone into the swing.
The Calthorpe Estate was established in 1717 when Sir Richard Gough purchased the land; the estate, which now spans over 1,600 acres of Edgbaston, has remained in the Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe family for this time.
Mark Lee, Chief Executive at Calthorpe Estates said, “We are delighted to be holding this community event as we celebrate our Tricentenary. Our focus has always been on creating thriving communities and the best places to live, work and relax. It seemed only fitting that we celebrate this landmark year with a community event at the Botanical Gardens – situated at the heart of the Estate.
“The Edgbaston Tricentenary Festival is set to be a memorable day for all to mark this milestone in our history – and as we look ahead to the next 300 years!”
