Unique Venues Birmingham (UVB), a new joint venture between Birmingham Repertory Theatre and the Library of Birmingham, launched in style on October 5th.
Unique Venues Birmingham is a new commercial venture between the two nationally-renowned venues uniting the excellent conferencing and hospitality opportunities offered within the shared building on Centenary Square in the heart of Birmingham.
Welcoming over 250 guests from the conferencing and events industry, as well as the local corporate community, the launch event invited them to find out more about UVB’s unique conferencing and event offer – flexible spaces with individual character and a venue that offers something dramatically different. Escorted tours were followed by live music, fabulous food and some surprise performances in the Library of Birmingham’s spectacular Book Rotunda. Guests also got to meet the skilled and experienced event management team led by Commercial
Director, Suzanna Reid. Suzanna said:
“We have had a fantastic response from the launch with customers recognising the opportunity that UVB offers to transform events from the mundane to the magnificent. I am personally very excited about the impact that UVB will have on events within the city.
The creation of UVB was led by Stuart Rogers (Executive Director, Birmingham Repertory Theatre) and Jacqui Kennedy (Corporate Director for Place, Birmingham City Council) who have steered the two organisations towards working closely together to deliver this initiative.
Unique Venues Birmingham will offer a range of flexible conferencing and events spaces for those seeking a dramatically different venue for their conference or event. The UVB portfolio includes three theatrical auditoria presenting huge dramatic and creative possibilities, a spectacular book rotunda, and a beautiful roof terrace with stunning panoramic views across the city plus the historic Shakespeare Memorial Room. A range of function suites and meetings rooms, complete with audio-visual technology, are also on offer across the shared building.
