The Wilderness & BCU Take Birmingham Fashion To The Next Level.

Michelin Guide recommended restaurant The Wilderness have started a new partnership with Birmingham City University’s School of Fashion and Textiles.

Alongside a sold-out Fashion Show event featuring collections hot off the Graduate Fashion Week catwalk, the popular Birmingham restaurant is also bridging the gap between food and fashion with a design influenced chocolate box collection.

Birmingham City University graduates have had a phenomenal reception at GFW 2019 with student Greg Brears taking home the ‘Menswear Award’ and all graduates receiving a fantastic reception at the exhibition. Greg’s collection along with designers Amy Plant, Holly Ward and Uroos Jamal will be showcased at a Fashion Show dinner on Wednesday 19th June at The Wilderness.

‘The collections on show present the immense talent, creativity and skills of our students. As a course, we pride ourselves on our collaborations between different art disciplines and industry.  The partnership with The Wilderness provides a perfect example of how fashion can work hand in hand with the culinary arts to provide an added element of ‘tasting’ the concepts; creating something truly new and exciting.’ Commented Claudia Huxtable, Senior Lecturer in BA (hons) Fashion Design at Birmingham City University.

To celebrate the collections by soon-to-be graduates The Wilderness are releasing 25 boxes of a limited-edition chocolate collection. The chocolates are based on the colours and styles of the designers and inspired by their work. The box of nine chocolates consist of a passionfruit and salted caramel, Thai green curry filling, raspberry caramel and hazelnut praline and a peanut butter and wagu fat ganache.

Alex Claridge, Chef Owner, from The Wilderness commented on the partnership; ‘As a restaurant built on the fabric of this incredible city, we’re thrilled to announce a partnership with Birmingham City University. From their team to their students, we have such incredible talent in the city and we wanted to use this event to celebrate just some of their achievements.’

The limited-edition chocolate-box collection will be available to purchase from The Wilderness online store from Thursday 20th June and will cost £15 for a box of nine.
