Award winning house DJ returns to Coventry with new ‘Club Classics’ Residency

Award-winning house DJ Paul Morrell is returning to Coventry with his new residency “Club Classics” at The Yard Coventry playing the biggest club tracks from the past 30 years.

Also known for the triple-platinum remix of Sweet but Psycho (Paul Morrell Remix), the Coventry born DJ and producer, is going back to his roots in Coventry for his latest residency; his hometown was one of the many cities hosting his mid-90s Classique Events. Morrell is also well known for his residencies in London superclubs “XXL”, and “Ministry of Sound” in recent years. His upcoming remix of Faouzia’s new hit single “Hero”, boasting 2 million YouTube streams, releases next month on Atlantic Records.

Following The Yard’s “Horsebox Sessions” in 2020, Paul Morrell is returning to the decks at The Yard with Club Classics. Club Classics will feature the best of the last 3 decades of classic club tracks.

Club Classics will be launching Friday 16th July at The Yard Coventry bar and nightclub, and every Friday following from 10pm.

On the relaxation of lockdown rules to allow nightclubs to open and resume entertainment General Manager Kieran Jones said;
“We’re very excited to kick-off next week with a brand new entertainment schedule and reopen our nightclub, especially after what has been a such difficult year for bars, nightclubs and the nightlife industry as a whole. We think Paul Morrell is a brilliant addition to our late-night entertainment line-up, and we’re really looking forward to having him back doing what he does best.”

Club Classics is just one of the post-lockdown events to look forward to from the team at The Yard Coventry, ahead of The Proud Freedom Festival taking place this August Bank Holiday, with live entertainment and headline acts performing all weekend on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th August.
