Coventry City Of Culture Launch Search For Apprentices

Coventry City of Culture Trust has launched a search for 15 apprentices to join the team to deliver a joyful, celebratory and impactful City of Culture year.

The apprenticeship roles are split across the different departments that make up the Coventry City of Culture Trust team, with positions within event production, marketing and communications, ticketing, fundraising, evaluation and finance.

There are 15 Level 3 apprenticeship positions on offer at the Trust for Coventry and Warwickshire residents at the beginning of, or looking to change, their career.

Each apprentice will be given training within their specific role, while working towards the appropriate apprenticeship standard and any accompanying accreditations with the support of the Trust’s chosen training provider, North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College. These 18-month positions are offered at 30 hours per week with apprentices earning a national living wage salary.

Martin Sutherland, Chief Executive of the Coventry City of Culture Trust, said: “We’ve made some major announcements over recent weeks and this is one that I am extremely excited about. These apprenticeships will offer 15 people from Coventry and Warwickshire the opportunity to work on a once-in-a-lifetime event.

“Through training provided by North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College, and by working alongside incredibly skilled members of our team, the 15 apprentices will gain unique experience and essential skills to kickstart their careers after Coventry’s year in the spotlight.”

Navjot Johal, Training Manager for the Trust, said: “Many people don’t know about the huge range of roles available on a project like City of Culture, so this is a great chance for people starting their careers, or considering a career change, to play a key role in the Trust’s activities for the next few years, regardless of their experience.”

Sara Whybrew, Director, Policy and Development at Creative & Cultural Skills, said: “Creative & Cultural Skills is delighted to be supporting Coventry City of Culture Trust to build new apprenticeship opportunities into its plans. We have been championing the importance and value of apprenticeships for over a decade, so we know that these new roles are going to have a really positive impact on the apprentices themselves, the Trust, and Coventry more broadly.”
